  • Themeda triandra. Red grass from my dear homeland South Africa. This grass is widespread throughout the entire land. And still every time I look at these beauties it just fills my heart with warmth.

  • Last year I made a real with a challenge. To create a whole wall of these mini weavings!
Just to give you a little update, I have recently received a whole bunch of new mini wooden frames to do the weavings in. Currently I am on holiday, But as soon as April is here I will keep you all posted on lots of new little mini weavings for the wall!
This is a very exciting challenge for me this year. And I cant wait to have you all along for it.

  • A sweet throwback to this lovely piece. Made with the most stunning variety of South African grasses. Carefully woven together with undyed raw silk and plant dyed merino wool I got a few years back from the sweetest @kaliko_co

I think it might be time to get those beautiful subtle coloured yarns out again for another beautiful weaving.

  • Klein maar Fijn. Small but Lovely.
What a sweet and wonderful Dutch saying! And I totally agree with it. There is such beauty to be found in the small everyday things. Like these small grasses hiding in a sea of grasses from South Africa.

Have you found some small bits of beauty in your day today?
If not yet I hope you do.

  • I think Purple is sometimes a under appreciated colour in these days.
Where at the time of the first pigment discovery it was a rather exquisite colour. Since using mollusks for this stunning "Tyrian purple" or "royal purple" was a very timely and expensive. Only the Holy or Royal had acces to it.
Today with artificial colouring it is so much more accessible.
To me the most glorious purples still come from nature. And I just adore the wide array of flowers that proudly wear this holy colour.

What do you think about purple? Do you have a favourite colour?
