NATURE   HUMAN   WEAVING   TEXT

Raised in the vibrant and colourful South Africa, Anneke Bosch is a textile artist and often poet who seeks the raw beauty of nature and humanity in her work. She experiments with various techniques and materials, such as weaving, dyeing, photography and embroidery, to create expressive and organic art pieces. She also delves into deep research on her chosen topics, such as the delicate South African flora of fynbos, the history and culture of textile art, and the personal stories of herself and others she encounters. She translates her findings and reflections into flowing written word, creating a dialogue between text and textile. She aims to provoke questions, impressions, and reactions in the viewers, and to inspire them to explore their own connection with nature and humanity.

  • Delicate natural tones for this beautiful delicate spring time.

  • Ohhhhh how I just absolutely adore grass!
So often over looked, but the pure simplicity and delicate details of every grass sprout just fills me with so much wonder.

Grass is so universal, and to me it symbolises growth and freedom. It truly is the most natural element, and I can never get tired of the feeling grass gives between my finger tips or toes.

  • One of the very first flora & fibre weavings I ever made and loved. With beautiful delicate Maidens tears I gathered from the side of the road.

As you can tell I started weaving with these flowers before they were fully dry, thats why you can still see the little green leaves starting to dry out.

She is still to this day one of my favourite combinations. 🤍

  • Porcupine quills. Still one of my absolute favourite things to find on a bush walk. Honestly its been a long time since I last found these beauties myself. The ones I still have now, were gifted to me by my aunt. And a few others I purchased at a local padstal on our amazing trip to Namibia.
However these quills make their way to me, I can promise you there will always be a story behind it.

  • Back in the Netherlands again. So its only fitting for a soft throwback to two years ago where I had the pleasure of creating this beautiful piece for the lovely local Dutch show Eigen huis en tuin -lekker leven on @RTL4

I never grow tired of using this combination of Maidens tears with soft Silk and pink Linen.

  • From now on I want to try a bit of a different approach to sharing and selling my weavings. I want each piece to be a story told. A story about the magnificent flowers and materials used. A story of where they come from. A story of how they spoke to me. And hopefully a new story of how they speak to you.
